The Domestic Relations Division of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas hears cases of families involved in divorce, dissolution, annulment, legal separation, child custody, parenting time, visitation, child support, property division, spousal support, contempt and other matters involving families before and after a marriage is terminated. The Court also issues Domestic Violence and Dating Violence Civil Protection Orders.

Thousands of matters are heard by this Court every year. Tens of thousands of lives are impacted by the decisions of this Court. The citizens of Lucas County deserve a Judge who has experience in handling these issues.

Election Day 2024 marks a decade of service for Karen Connelly as a Lucas County Domestic Relations Magistrate and twenty total years of service with the Court. Everyday, Magistrate Connelly sees the profound impact the Court has on families, children and the community at large. It is crucial that this Court be led by someone who understands and appreciates the significance of this position to the people of Lucas County. Her respect for the legal community and the people she serves, led Magistrate Connelly to her decision to run for the open position of Lucas County Domestic Relations Judge in November 2024.

As a magistrate, I have presided over thousands of cases. I am acutely aware of the importance of my role in the lives of Lucas County families that appear before me. I treat all of those who present to the Court with respect and am dedicated to making the hard decisions with fairness and compassion.
